Meet Dr. Tyler Brown

Dr. Brown earned his doctorate in 2016 from the University of South Dakota. He began his career as a psychologist for school districts in Wisconsin for several years, conducting evaluations and providing therapy to students, and supporting families and teachers. Dr. Brown then became an assistant professor at Western Illinois University and then at Alverno College, where he taught undergraduate courses and trained graduate psychology students in psychological assessment. While Dr. Brown always will have a love for teaching, his true passion is working with clients and their families.

He then completed postdoctoral training with Caravel Autism Health and the Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP), where he received specialized training in autism assessment and treatment. Since 2021, Dr. Brown has worked in outpatient hospital and clinic settings until opening his own practice in December 2023.

Dr. Brown has extensive training and experience in conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, teenagers and adults. He specializes in evaluating children as young as 18 months for autism and developmental delays, as well as in assessing children and adolescents who demonstrate challenging or concerning behaviors. Dr. Brown also conducts evaluations for AD/HD, anxiety, learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia), mood disorders, and other concerns for children and adults. Further, he is one of the few psychologists in this part of the state who evaluates adults for autism spectrum disorder.

Finally, Dr. Brown provides psychotherapy for children, teens, and adults for a variety of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, skill building for emotion regulation, and many other concerns. His warmth and sense of humor create an environment where clients feel comfortable and safe, and his use of evidenced-based practices help clients grown and improve their lives.
